In 1976, Bill Zender became a blackjack dealer. He rapidly started to work his way up the casino industry ladder. Bill became a floor manager, then a pit boss, then a shift manager. Eventually Zender went on to become the Director of Casino Operations and part owner of the Aladdin Hotel and Casino.
He then served as Nevada Gaming Control agent for three years. Bill Zender currently works as a consultant (Last Resort Consulting) and gaming industry expert. He advises his clients on casino operations, cheating and game protection.

Zender is an expert on Pai Gow Poker and Blackjack. Zender has worked as a Pai Gow Poker consultant in numerous casinos. In 1989, he wrote "Pai Gow Without Tears," and he followed that up with his 1991 book "Pai Gow Poker: Understanding Procedures and Strategies."
Zender shared his insider blackjack knowledge in "Card Counting For the Casino Executive." Casino players are often bombarded with books on how to cheat the casinos.
